GRETNA – An Orleans Parish woman is suing McDonald's after she claims that she experienced food poisoning.

Helen D. Barrow filed a suit against Master's Family McDonald's, Master's Management LLC and XYZ insurance company in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 24.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at the McDonald's restaurant located on Lapalco Boulevard on June 26, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff placed an order for a hamburger meal and after consuming the sandwich, became ill and sought medical attention for food poisoning the next day.

The defendants are accused of failing to take the necessary measure to protect customers and failing to ensure that such incidents do not occur.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is representing herself. The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darrensburg.
