The University of New Orleans alleges former student did not pay fees

GRETNA – The University of New Orleans is seeking damages following an incident in which a student allegedly failed to pay for classes and services.

The University of Louisiana System board of supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a suit against Yinchen Li in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 21.

According to the claim, the defendant and plaintiff entered into an agreement in which the plaintiff incurred charges of more than $1,400 after enrolling for the Fall 2012 semester. The suit states that despite requests that the funds be paid back, the defendant has still failed to do so.

The defendant is accused of failure to pay for services rendered.

The plaintiff is seeking $1,473.50 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Meghan N. Beal. The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
