NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana LLC is seeking damages, claiming that another LLC has been using a registered trade name that does not belong to them.

Da Hair Connect LLC filed a suit against A Cut Above Entertainment LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 7.

According to the claim, the plaintiff has been the sole owner of the registered trade name "Paint the City Red" since October 2015. The suit states that the defendant, however, has begun to use the name and has failed to stop using the name in advertisement and social sites, despite being informed by the plaintiff of the unlawfulness of their actions.

The defendant is accused of using a registered trade name in violation of the owner.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Michelle D. Craig.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-6779.
