Suit filed against man for allegedly not making improvements to purchased property

Contract 02

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority claims that an individual was unjustly enriched.

New Orleans Redevelopment Authority filed a suit against Darryl F. Johnson in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on June 20.

According to the claim, the defendant entered into an agreement in 2012 to purchase and sell a New Orleans property, under which the defendant agreed to make certain improvements to the property within a certain amount of time following the purchase. The suit states, though, that after acquiring the property, the defendant has failed to make the improvements that he promised to.

The defendant is accused of unjust enrichment of $1,345, the discount he received for purchasing the property, through failing to uphold certain details of the agreement.

The plaintiff is seeking $1,345 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Victoria Hines of New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
