Woman files suit after repaired walls to home collapsed

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages claiming that the repairs made to her home were not structurally sound.

Cecilia H. Robert filed a suit against Suane Masonry LLC, Leo V. Suane Jr. and Victor J. Suane Sr. and XYZ insurance company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on June 16.

According to the claim, the plaintiff's New Orleans property suffered extensive damages due to a fire on Aug. 31, 2015. The suit states that the plaintiff entered into a contract with the defendants for repairs to be made to the masonry walls of the property and subsequently paid the defendants $136,000. The suit additionally states that the walls which were constructed by the defendant collapsed in March.

The defendants are accused breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Terrence A. Prout and Gabrielle Wilson-Prout of the Prout Law Firm in New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV, Chief Judge.
