NEW ORLEANS — A law firm is seeking damages, claiming that an employee committed fraud.
The Duggins Law Firm LLC and William Scott Duggins filed a suit against Gregory T. Discon in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on June 19.
According to the claim, the defendant was hired by the plaintiff as an attorney for the firm in November 2013. The suit states that he was employed through June 30, 2015 and that during his time of employment it became clear to the plaintiffs that the defendant was committing fraudulent and negligent actions, including using funds for his own purposes, forging false account receipts and forging documents in the firm.
The defendant is accused of fraud and negligent actions through the damage of the plaintiff's reputation, loss of clients, defamation of the plaintiff and monetary damages to the plaintiff.
The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by J. Konrad Jackson and Daniel W. Dilzell.
The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Regina Bartholomew Woods.
