NEW ORLEANS – A community college alleges a former student did not pay for nine credit hours of coursework.
The Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a suit against Magnolitha Pierre in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 25.
According to the claim, the defendant had an open account with the plaintiff and had accumulated a fee of more than $1,000 through taking courses at the community college in the Fall 2013 semester. The suit states that the defendant has thus failed to pay for the funds accumulated.
The defendant is accused of open account through failing to pay for the services rendered.
The plaintiff is seeking $1,317.12 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Meghan N. Beal of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.
The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV, chief judge.
