University of New Orleans claims that a student failed to pay for attending

NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans is seeking damages against a student for his allegedly open account.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a suit against Chad Christopher Thomas in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on June 30.

According to the claim, the defendant was enrolled in the university as a student in the fall of 2013. The suit states that while the defendant was attending the university, he incurred charges of more than $3,600. The suit additionally states that the student has failed to make payments on his open account.

The defendant is accused of open account through failing to pay for the services that he received while attending the university.

The plaintiff is seeking $3,683.50 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Wendy Ramnarine of the Louisiana Department of Justice.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
