NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages, claiming that she was caused to slip and fall on wet ground and was injured.
Carman Matherne filed a suit against Rockhill Insurance Co. and Empire Janitorial Sales & Services LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 26.
According to the claim, the plaintiff was caused to fall on Sept. 4, 2015, upon exiting the premises of Immaculate Conception School. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall when she encountered the wet ground that was left by a leak in the water line from the boys' bathroom, which was purportedly caused by an employee of Empire.
The defendants are accused of negligence through their failure to respond to the unsafe condition, failing to provide a safe environment for guests and failing to warn of the danger.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Bobby G. Hawkins and Anthony D. Irpino of New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
