Man claims he was injured by steps at J.O.B. Investments apartment complex

GRETNA – A man alleges he was injured after a step broke on a staircase.

Jasma L. Young filed a suit against QBE Specialty Insurance Co. and J.O.B. Investments LLC, doing business as Magnolia Ridge Apartment Homes, in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 5.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was walking on the stairs located at the Magnolia Ridge Apartment Homes in Jefferson Parish on Oct. 20, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while walking on the steps, the plaintiff was caused to fall by the step breaking under him, resulting in injuries to his knee and leg.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to maintain the premises, failing to warn of the dangerous condition or remedy the situation to prevent such incidents from occurring.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Ron A. Austin and Jeffrey P. Green of Ron Austin & Associates in Harvey.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
