GRETNA – A woman has filed suit, claiming two physical attacks occurred, targeting her student at a middle school.
Tonya George filed a suit against parents of a particular student, Theodore Roosevelt Middle School and Jefferson Parish School Board in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 19.
According to the claim, the plaintiff's child was a student at the middle school on July 21, 2015, when the incidents occurred. The suit states that child was physically assaulted on two different occasions, causing physical injury and mental distress.
The defendant is accused of negligence by allowing such an incident to take place and failing to maintain the proper procedures for handling attacked individuals.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Tony Dooley of New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
