NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that the flooring in her home was installed in a defective manner by an Orleans Parish company.
Larnette Smith filed a suit against Floor De Lis LLC and State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 27.
According to the claim, the plaintiff hired the Floor De Lis LLC for the installation of wood and marble flooring in her New Orleans property on Oct. 29, 2010. The suit states that the plaintiff provided payment to the defendant but following the completion of the work, noticed that there were obvious defects in it.
Floor De Lis LLC is accused of breach of warranty through failing to complete the work in a sufficient manner, failing to properly train and supervise the employees and failing to ensure that the work was completed in a proper manner.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Ryan P. Reece and Allen H. Borne in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Regina Bartholomew Woods.
