Business partners allegedly breached their contract with Nola Title Company

NEW ORLEANS – A title company claims its business partners allegedly breached their contract. 

Nola Title Company LLC filed suit against Archon Information Systems LLC, doing business as CivicSource, CivicSource Holdings LLC, CivicSource Title LLC, Mississippi Guaranty Title Insurance Company now known as US National Title Insurance Company, Bryan Barrios, Michael Kirschman and Stephen Morel in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 8.

According to the claim, the city of New Orleans' RFP and the plaintiff began negotiations with the defendant in May 2014 for a fee sharing arrangement. The suit states that the defendant breached its contract with the plaintiff by failing to uphold their legal obligations to the plaintiff and failing to comply with the terms and legal implications of their previous agreement.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract, unfair trade practices and breach of fiduciary duty.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Randall A. Smith, J. Geoffrey Ormsby and Reagan Reynolds of New Orleans. 

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
