East Jefferson General Hospital vehicle allegedly rear-ended a motorist, causing damage

GRETNA – A woman claims that her car was rear-ended by a hospital vehicle.

Mary Anselmo has filed a suit against Joseph Trahan, Catlin Insurance Services Inc., Jefferson Parish Hospital District No. 2, doing business as East Jefferson General Hospital, and State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 8.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was driving her vehicle on Sept. 19, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff's car was struck by a driver from East Jefferson General Hospital due to negligence.

The defendants are accused of negligence by failing to keep a proper lookout, failing to follow at a safe distance and overall carelessness in the operation of a motor vehicle.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Brian P. Marcell and Logan S. Albertine.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
