Woman alleges she was injured after fall in Copeland's New Orleans Restaurant lot

GRETNA – A woman claims that she was injured after falling in a parking lot.

Melissa R. Kaiser, wife of Steven Kaiser, filed a suit against Copeland's of New Orleans LLC and Evanston Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 16.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a customer of Copeland's New Orleans Restaurant, located at 680 N. Highway 190 on Nov. 22, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to trip and fall while walking across the parking lot due to an uneven portion of pavement, causing her to injure her face, hand and shoulder.

Copeland's of New Orleans LLC is accused of failing to provide warning about the condition of the property.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Peyton B. Burkhalter of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
