NEW ORLEANS – A Mississippi company alleges it wasn't paid for work completed on a New Orleans project.

F.L. Crane & Sons Inc. filed a suit against The McDonnel Group and Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 25.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was subcontracted as a worker on a job in 2015 for a Louisiana Department of Education project in New Orleans. The suit states that The McDonnel Group agreed to the price for the plaintiff's labor and accepted the supplies and labor that the plaintiff provided. The suit states, however, that The McDonnel Group has failed to make payment for the work completed, which is valued at more than $100,000.

The McDonnel Group is accused of breach of contract, contractual bond claim against Liberty Mutual, negligence, violation of the Louisiana Public Works Act and failure to pay.

The plaintiff is seeking $111,281.90 damages. The plaintiff is represented by Jonathan S. Forester, Johanna E. Lambert and Christopher K. LeMieux of Blue Williams in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
