Resident alleges that unlit, uneven nature of her apartment's walkway caused her to fall

GRETNA – A woman claims that she fell at her apartment complex and injured her hands, knees and shoulders.

 

Brenda Robin filed a suit against Villa D'Orleans Condominium Association Inc. & Arch Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 22.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was walking after dark on Feb. 17 at her residency, 3126 Edenborn Ave., Apartment 516 in Metairie when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to fall when she encountered an unlit and uneven portion of the entrance walkway, which also was without handrails.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to repair the premises, failing to provide enough light to see the dangerous condition and overall negligence to provide a safe environment for residents.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Robert J. Caluda of the Caluda Law Firm in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
