NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans woman is seeking damages over claims that she slipped and fell in a medical center.

Mattie D. Combs filed a suit against University Medical Center Management Corp. and LCMC Health, doing business as Louisiana Children's Medical Center, in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on April 4.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was caused personal injury on Nov. 30, 2015, when she slipped and fell on a puddle of soap or lotion that had been left in a hallway.

The defendants are accused of negligence through allowing the substance to remain on the floor and for failing to place warning of the situation.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Ron A. Austin and Jeffrey P. Green of Ron Austin & Associates LLC in Harvey.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
