Woman alleges food left on floor at Harrah's casino caused her to fall

NEW ORLEANS – An individual allegedly fell in a casino because of food that was left on the floor.

Valencia Lewis filed a suit against Jazz Casino Co. LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on April 26.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was on the defendant's Harrah's property located at 228 Poydras St. when the incident occurred on Aug. 1, 2015. The plaintiff allegedly was caused to slip and fall on some food that had been left on the floor of the casino and was injured.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to keep the premises in a suitable condition for guests, failing to clean up the food and failing to warn of the danger.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Jason F. Giles and Brian King of the King Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
