NEW ORLEANS — A St. Tammany Parish woman is suing a health management business, alleging failure to pay overtime wages.
Alyce Friloux filed a lawsuit Aug. 26, in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Health Management Services Inc. and Health Management Services, Inc. of Texas, doing business as The Sleep Apnea Store, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, Frilouix, who began working for The Sleep Apnea Store in 2005 and became district manager in 2013, has regularly worked more than 40 hours a week without receiving overtime compensation for any hours worked in excess of 40 per week.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant treated her position as exempt from overtime and did not compensate her for hours worked over 40 in a week as mandated by FLSA.
Friloux seeks trial by jury, compensation for back pay, front pay, liquidated damages, injunctive and declaratory relief, attorney fees and court costs, plus all other relief to which she is entitledy. She is represented by attorney Christa Hayes Forrester of Peragine Law Firm LLC in Covington.
