NEW ORLEANS – A community college is seeking damages over claims that a student failed to pay for attending.
The Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a suit against Raphael J. Deterville in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 11.
According to the claim, the plaintiff issued services to the defendant in the form of college credits for the Fall 2012 semester. The suit states that the defendant has failed to make payment on the open account of more than $1,500.
The plaintiff is seeking $1,504 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.
The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
