A property owner claims that their insurance provider breached contract

NEW ORLEANS – A property owner is seeking damages, claiming that they were not properly reimbursed for damages.

Nag Ltd., Ben Sah Inc. and Meir Chee Shawl Ltd. filed a suit against Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's of London in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 11.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs were the owners of the property located at 800-804 Royal St. and 635-637 St. Ann St. The suit states that the plaintiffs had insurance for the building, but that on Oct. 21, 2014 the building was caused serious damages. The plaintiffs filed claims for repairs to be made to the building, but the defendant failed to fully pay the plaintiffs for the damages suffered.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by John H. Denenea Jr. and Brian G. Shearman.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-10085.
