Two individuals claim that they were injured when concrete fell on them while moving

NEW ORLEANS – Two individuals allege they were injured by falling concrete at an apartment complex.

Angel Williams and Stephanie Ellis filed a suit against Cove at Nola LLC; The Lynd Co., doing business as Lynd Management; and First Mercury Insurance Co. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 14.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs were moving furniture on Dec. 26, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiffs were injured when concrete from the building suddenly and without warning fell from the landing and struck them on the head, neck and shoulders.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Vincent P. Scallian and Irvy E. Cosse III of Cosse Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
