A man is seeking damages for defamation, claiming that he was called a killer

NEW ORLEANS – A doctor is seeking damages, claiming that he was advertised as a killer by another individual.

Mark Alain Dery and Liana Elliott filed a suit against Kevin McCusker in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 22.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was falsely accused of being responsible for the death of a woman. The suit states that the defendant told others that the plaintiff was a criminal, even though this was not true.

The defendant is accused of defamation and false accusations against the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Katheryn M. Caraway and Ann Marie LeBlanc.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-8424.
