Man alleges hand injury result of negligence of French Riviera Health Spa, others

GRETNA – A man claims that a fitness center is responsible for his hand injury sustained on the premises.

Mitchell Miller filed a suit against French Riviera Health Spa Inc., Riviera Personal Training II Inc. and General Insurance Co. of America in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 25.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at a personal training session at French Riviera Health Spa in Metairie on Jan. 14 when the incident occurred. The suit states that while the plaintiff was performing a plank exercise, a personal trainer placed a weighted bar on his back. He alleges the weighted bar began to roll and fell onto his hand, resulting in pain and injury.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Perry W. Manning Sr. of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
