Man alleges business partner sold property, kept proceeds without knowledge

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man alleges a business partner sold a property without his knowledge.

Ayman Ibrahim, in his personal capacity and on behalf of Ayah Grocery LLC, filed a suit against Raed Alhindi in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 19.

According to the claim, the two parties entered into a business agreement on Dec. 11, 2006, and that the limited liability company was the owner of a property in Kenner. The suit states this property was leased to I Zenith Inc. and that Alhindi canceled the lease without notifying Ibrahim and later sold the property to I Zenith. Alhindi alleged kept the proceeds from the sale.

The defendant is accused of conversion, intentional and negligent misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty and unjust enrichment.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages and are represented by Michael S. Ricci, Jonathan L. Schultis and Mervatt Eljaouhari of Ricci Partners in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
