Vessel owner sues contractor for alleged failure to pay

NEW ORLEANS — A vessel owner is suing Double Aught Construction LLC, a contractor, citing alleged breach of contract.

Coastal Marine Contractors LLC filed a complaint on Oct. 11, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Double Aught Construction LLC alleging that the contractor failed to comply with its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between Sept. 10, 2013 and Sept. 20, 2013, plaintiff's vessel, the M/V Capt. Travis, provided transportation services to defendant in the total amount of $23,830.64. To date, it has not received payment for the said amount. The plaintiff holds Double Aught Construction LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the total amount owed to plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for actual damages in the amount of $23,830.64, plus interest, attorneys' fees, costs and such other relief it may be justly entitled.
