Festival worker alleges she was injured because of boards covered in mud

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she slipped due to the negligence of her employer.

Lidya A. Araya filed a suit against Voodoo Music Experience LLC and Live Nation Worldwide Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 31.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was an employee of the defendants in late October and November 2015. The suit states that during a festival that the plaintiff was working at, she was caused to slip and fall on an uneven arrangement of plywood boards that had been covered in mud. The plaintiff was taken to the hospital by ambulance for her injuries, the suit states.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Ronald L. Wilson of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
