Man alleges New Orleans Nephrology Associates failed to monitor daughter

NEW ORLEANS – A man is seeking damages following the death of his daughter.

Donald Garnett filed a suit against Louisiana Medical Mutual Insurance Co., Continental Casualty Co., New Orleans Nephrology Associates LLC, Dr. Steven Morris, Mary Rebecca Colclough and Jennifer Ann Martello in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 27.

According to the claim, the plaintiff's daughter, Nicole Garnett, died in August 2013 following her bleeding out of her AV fitula.

The defendants are accused of failing to protect the patient, failure to monitor, failure to implement vascular specialist and other counts.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by William R. Mustian III of Stanga & Mustian in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
