American Express alleges Jefferson Parish man owes on credit card

GRETNA – American Express claims that a Jefferson Parish man owes more than $36,000.

American Express Centurion Bank filed a suit against Jared P. Folks in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 7.

According to the claim, the plaintiff issued the defendant a credit card. The suit states that the defendant has made more than $36,000 of charges on the card without paying off any of the balance.

The defendant is accused of open account against the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking $36,237.21 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Edward F. Bukaty III and Warren W. Wingerter Jr. in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
