Woman alleges mat at Tulane University Hospital & Clinic caused injuries

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she tripped and fell on a mat at a New Orleans medical facility.

Vanessa L. Bergeron filed a suit against University Healthcare System LC, doing business as Tulane University Hospital & Clinic, in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 10.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at the defendant's property at 1415 Tulane Ave. on Feb. 24, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to trip and fall on a mat after passing through a set of doors.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by George B. Recile and Barry W. Sartin of Chehardy, Sherman, Williams, Recile, Stakelum & Hayes in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
