Woman claims New Orleans Public Facility Management's negligence caused fall

NEW ORLEANS – A Terrebonne Parish woman claims that she fell while attending an event and was injured.

Pamela Russo, wife of and Jonathan Russo, filed a suit against New Orleans Public Facility Management Inc. and American Specialty Insurance & Risk Services Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 7.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at an event on Nov. 21, 2015, when the incident occurred at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to fall when she stepped into a trench used for electrical wires that was not covered.

New Orleans Public Facility Management Inc. is accused of negligence through failing to remedy the situation, provide warnings of the condition, or taking the necessary precautions.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Joseph L. Waitz III, Hunt Downer and Mary W. Riviere of Waitz & Downer in Houma.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
