C-Ports/Stone LLC seeks more than $300,000 from Adriatic Marine LLC

NEW ORLEANS – Fuel supplier the owner of two ships has filed to pay for supplies it purchased earlier this year.

C-Ports/Stone LLC filed a complaint on Nov. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against M/V Caribou, M/V Elk and Adriatic Marine LLC alleging failure to pay.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between January and February, it provided diesel fuel, water and other necessities to defendant vessels with a total invoice of $331,554.90. To date, said amount allegedly remains unpaid. The plaintiff holds M/V Caribou, M/V Elk and Adriatic Marine LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the agreed upon and fair and reasonable value of plaintiff's services.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in the amount of $331,554.90, plus interest, attorney's fees, costs and expenses, an order for M/V Elk and M/V Caribou be seized, condemned and sold to satisfy plaintiff's judgment and such other relief that is just and proper. It is represented by George J. Fowler III, Robert R. Johnston, Jacques P. DeGruy and Jeffrey S. Hall Jr. of Fowler Rodriguez in New Orleans.
