NEW ORLEANS – A seaman alleges he was injured on the job because of his employers' negligence.

Troy Campfield filed a complaint on Nov. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Cvitanovic Towing LLC and Cvitanovic Bros. Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 19, 2013, he was directly employed by the defendants working aboard a vessel when he was injured while executing his duties. He alleges he was caused to suffer past and future pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss wages and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Cvitanovic Towing LLC and Cvitanovic Bros. Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide a reasonably safe place to work, failed to take a reasonable precaution for the crew's safety, failed to properly supervise and failed to provide proper safety equipment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages as are reasonable in the premises, plus interest, for all costs of these proceedings and all other just and equitable relief. He is represented by Jim S. Hall and Joseph W. Rausch of Jim S. Hall & Associates LLC in Metairie.
