NEW ORLEANS – A Missouri woman alleges she was harassed by management at her former employer.

Karen Price filed a complaint on Nov. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Acadian Ambulance Service Inc. alleging discrimination.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that as a result of defendant's actions and due to her medical problems, she was forced to resign from her employment, which caused her to suffer a loss of income and benefits, medical and pharmacy expenses and extreme emotional distress. The plaintiff holds Acadian Ambulance Service Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected her to gender pay discrepancies by paying her more than $1 less per hour than her male co-worker, failed to provide a raise or appraisal for 2015 and failed to consider her for promotion.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in her favor awarding her all sums to which she is entitled, attorney's fees, costs and all other equitable relief. She is represented by Scott D. Wilson in Baton Rouge.
