Renewal Homes LLC alleges tenant broke windows, punched holes in walls of property

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish resident is accused of causing more than $2,000 in damages to a rental property.

Renewal Homes LLC filed a suit against Doris Laneheart in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 16.

According to the claim, the plaintiff entered into a residential lease agreement on Sept. 4, 2015. The suit states that the plaintiff has broken her agreement through repeated abuses to the property, including breaking windows, punching holes in the walls and leaving trash. The plaintiff alleges the defendant's actions caused more than $2,000 in repairs.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Michael J. Winsberg of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
