Southern University - Baton Rouge alleges former student owes more than $2,000

GRETNA – A university is seeking nearly $3,000 from a former student for an allegedly open account.

Southern University Board of Supervisors through Southern University - Baton Rouge filed a suit against Landen Christopher Butler in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 7.

According to the claim, the plaintiff attended the university for the fall 2014 semester. The suit states that the defendant has failed to pay off more than $2,000 in outstanding charges.

The defendant is accused of open account against the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking $2,368.75 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright.
