Shopper claims condition of curb caused fall, injuries outside Dollar General

GRETNA – A woman claims that she was caused to fall outside of a Dollar General in a Gretna shopping plaza.

Veronica Giordano filed a suit against DolgenCorp Inc., Lake Charles PC LP, and Moraco Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 6.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was in the parking lot of the defendants' West Side Shopping Center on Dec. 28, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on a curb into an opening in the cement.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to warn of the danger or remedy the situation.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Nicole L. Oddo, David L. Colvin, Jeffrey P. Brothers, Shelly R. Hale, Jeffrey D. Hufft of Colvin Law Firm in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
