GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish company alleges contractors are guilty of lying and cheating.

Moreau Services LLC, Quincy Moreau, and Delaina Moreau filed a suit Dec. 5 against Pilot Travel Centers LLC, Scott Moore, A. Phelps Petroleum of Northwest Florida Inc. and Alvin Phelps in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging violations of Louisiana's Unfair Trade Practices Act, conspiracy and fraud.

According to the claim, the defendants introduced themselves as duly licensed contractors, able to complete services to the plaintiff involving the construction of gasoline service stations. The suit states, however, the defendants never intended to render such services.  The defendants are accused of hiring a contractor who lacked the appropriate licensing.

Moreau Services seeks  trial by jury, all appropriate damages, attorney fees and costs of court. It is represented by attorney Robert B. Evans and Joshua Allison of The Evans Law Corporation in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 767138.
