Elite Investment Group, Elite Medical Enterprises accused of conversion by doctor

GRETNA – A doctor claims his business manager unlawfully withdrew several hundred thousand dollars from his bank account.

Alireza Sadeghi M.D. and Houma Ventures LLC filed a suit against Jason C. Adams, owner of Elite Investment Group LLC and Elite Medical Enterprises LLC, in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 2.

According to the claim, Adams transferred and or withdrew funds from the plaintiff's account for more than $500,000 from December 2015 to March 2016. The suit states that Adams represented the funds were to be used to pay a construction company for work performed on the plaintiff's property, but that this was false.

The defendants are accused of conversion, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence and other counts.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by David Halpern, Kernan A. Hand, Sean T. McLaughlin and McClain Schonekas of Kean Miller LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
