GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish church is suing a carper installer, alleging it did a poor job.
The Hope of Glory Church, filed a suit Dec. 9 against A-Mar Interiors Inc and XYZ Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging breach of contract.
According to the claim, Hope of Glory paid A-Mar $40,000 to complete a carpet installation on the plaintiff's property. The suit states the defendant failed to obtain the materials needed to complete the job in a timely manner and the installation was delayed. Following the entire installation, the lawsuit states, Hope of Glory found defects in the installation and it is seeking reparation for the actions taken by the defendants.
The defendant is accused of negligently failing to complete the job in a professional or timely manner, failing to inform the plaintiff of the defects and overall negligence.
Hope of Glory Church seeks all appropriate damages, court costs and attorney fees. It is represented by attorney Carl A. Butler of The Butler Law Firm LLC in Kenner.
The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
