Marriott worker blames hotel for injuries

NEW ORLEANS – A Marriott employee is suing the hotel chain and an an electric company, alleging their negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Gwendolyn Thomas filed a lawsuit Dec. 15 against Frischhertz Electric Company Inc, Gray Insurance Company, and J.W. Marriott Corporation in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Frischhertz failed to clean up water from a broken pipe that was in Thomas' office at the Marriott at 614 Canal St., New Orleans. The plaintiff was caused to slip and fall, resulting in personal injures,the suit says.

The lawsuit accuses Frischhertz and Marriott of negligence through failing to properly complete their work and place warning of the danger.

Thomas seeks appropriate damages, attorney fees, legal interest and all equitable relief,. She is represented by attorneys Randy George McKee, James J. Carter and Amelia D. Colomb of Carter & McKee LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-12270.
