Customer blames Smoothie King for fall, injuries

GRETNA – A customer is suing Smoothie King, alleging negligence caused her to fall and suffer injuries.

Tanya Fabre filed a suit against King Enterprises of New Orleans Inc, Smoothie King, also known as Smoothie King No. 3, Bankers Insurance Company and John Sampson in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 16, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Fabre was a customer at the Smoothie King in Harahan on Dec. 21, 2015. The suit states she was caused to fall due to a poorly maintained entrance that was slippery and wet. The fall led to Fabre suffering serious injuries and extensive medical treatments. 

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to keep the store in a safe state for visitors and for failing to warn of the risk.

Fabre seeks reasonable damages, plus court costs. She is represented by attorneys Robert T. Hughes and Ryan T. Hughes of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 767466.
