BATON ROUGE – A disabled woman is seeking a temporary restraining order from being evicted from an apartment complex
Angel Randolph filed a complaint on Dec. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against OSC-Management Inc. and Jefferson South Apartments alleging improper and illegal termination of a lease.
According to the complaint, the defendants allegedly refused to accept the plaintiff's rent, to recertify her benefits and to renew her lease without any lawful basis and without due process of law. The plaintiff holds OSC-Management Inc. and Jefferson South Apartments responsible because the plaintiff alleges that as a result of defendant's actions she is now facing eviction and termination of her public subsidized housing rental assistance benefits.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction, enjoining defendants from terminating her rental assistance benefits and her tenancy, award for all costs and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Nelson Dan Taylor Sr. of J. K. Haynes Legal Defense Fund in Thibodaux.
