NEW ORLEANS – A Galliano maritime company claims a Miami construction company has not made payments on a charter agreement.

Trident Management Group LLC filed a complaint on Dec. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against GLF Construction Corp. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 21, 2016, it entered into a charter and catering agreement wherein defendant would charter plaintiff's barge, the Alaska Solution, for $8,900 per day. The plaintiff claims it suffered damages for not receiving payments on time. The plaintiff holds GLF Construction Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly paid for the first 30 days but has not made any further payments.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages, plus penalties, attorney's fees, court costs and such other proper and necessary relief. It is represented by W. Brett Mason of Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann LLC in Baton Rouge.
