Deckhand claims he was injured because of negligence of two businesses

NEW ORLEANS – A deckhand alleges he was injured while working on a vessel.

Anthony Henderson filed a complaint on Dec. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Enterprise Marine Services LLC and Kirby Inland Marine LP alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a deckhand on the vessel Jackie and was helping a co-worker break a barge loose in June 2015. The plaintiff alleges that as result of defendants' negligence, plaintiff sustained severe, painful and disabling injuries to his spine that resulted in physical and mental pain, lost wages, loss of enjoyment of life and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages in an amount reasonable under the circumstances, plus interest, and all other relief that the law may require. He is represented by Paul M. Sterbcow and Ian F. Taylor of Lewis, Kullman, Sterbcow & Abramson in New Orleans.
