Amtrak passenger alleges negligence in crash with car

GRETNA – An Amtrak passenger is suing various defendants for injuries suffered in a train collision with a car.

Samuel Lopez De LaRosa filed a lawsuit Jan. 6 against Caesar Ponce Gallo, Doctor Pipe Inc., Wesco Insurance, ABC and XYZ Insurance in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence and reckless control of a vehicle.

According to the claim, De LaRosa suffered injuries Jan. 7, 2016 ,when at the intersection of 700 Hanson Ave. and Kenner Avenue in Orleans Parish a car operated by Gallo and owned by Doctor Pipe Inc. collided with the Amtrak train on which De Larosa was a passenger.

De LaRosa seeks compensation for damages, personal injuries and medical expenses, attorney fees and court costs. He is is represented by attorney Raymond Anthony Brown of Kenner.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 767952.
