Mortgage company seeks $144,000 for promissory note

GRETNA – A mortgage association is suing two customers, alleging they owe $144,000 for a mortgage.

Federal National Mortgage Association filed a suit Jan. 12 against John R. Bourgeois and Rita Hoover Bourgeois, widow of Rudolph J. Bourgeois, in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging failing to uphold the agreement to pay off a loan.

According to the claim, Federal National Mortgage is the holder of a promissory note for the amount of a $144,000 mortgage. The suit states the defendants have failed to pay off any of balance that they owe.

Federal National Mortgage seeks all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Louis Graham Arceneaux of Graham, Arceneaux & Allen LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 768131.
