NEW ORLEANS – A Georgia woman alleges she was injured by a window shade at a New Orleans health care facility.
Cheryl Dillard filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Ochsner Clinic Foundation alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 23, 2016, she was visiting her son at the Ochsner Foundation Clinic in New Orleans and she was injured after the window shade in her son's room fell on top of her. She alleges she was caused to suffer physical and mental pain, medical expenses, loss wages and disability. The plaintiff holds Ochsner Clinic Foundation responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly secure the shade and failed warn her of the defective condition of the window shade.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant, compensation for her losses, injuries and other damages, plus interest, costs, attorney fees and all other legal, general and equitable relief. She is represented by Rodney Kelp Littlefield of Littlefield Law LLC in New Orleans.
