Louisiana Children's Medical Center left water on floor, causing woman to slip, suit claims

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman claims that she slipped and fell at a children's hospital due to negligence.

Nichole Tate filed a lawsuit Jan. 31 against Louisiana Children's Medical Center and Children's Hospital both doing business as Children's Hospital and/or Children's Hospital of New Orleans in Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the complaint, Tate was at the Children's Hospital of New Orleans, at 200 Henry Clay Ave., Orleans Parish on March 1. While helping her daughter, who was at the hospital, the plaintiff slipped and fell in a puddle of water that had been left by a mop, resulting in injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to warn of the danger, failing to properly clean the premises and failing to create a dangerous situation.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney William E. Mura Jr. and Warren A. Forstall Jr. in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
